On 03.03.2020, PROGRAIN ORGANIC held meetings with the farmers in the cities of Cahul and Comrat, organized by People in Need Moldova, within the project “Fortified organic farming”. Within them, the following topics were addressed:
- What organic farming represents;
- The advantages of organic farming;
- Possible impasse;
- The project for the implementation of organic farming on a national scale by PROGRAIN ORGANIC S.R.L.;
- Emphasizing the importance of respecting the principles of organic farming;
- Market trends in the European Union.
Such regional meetings are a fortified semi-annual practice of the PROGRAIN ORGANIC team and aim to inform farmers throughout Moldova about the economic and environmental benefits of organic farming.
The meetings were conducted together with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment, with the support of People in Need Moldova, funded by the Agency within the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Environmental Policy of the Netherlands.
